The Islamic preacher, Dr. Omar Abdel Kafi - who was a guest on the program “Sharia and Life in Ramadan” - stresses the importance of raising a son and daughter on the teachings of Islam, so that they can build a healthy family free from social diseases. He also calls for instilling a culture of brotherhood and solidarity among Muslims.

The first episode (3/11/2024) of the program “Sharia and Life in Ramadan” devoted its topic to the system of relationships in the Muslim family.

According to Dr. Omar, the son and daughter must be brought up with a full understanding of rights, duties, and good behavior, and on how to strengthen their relationship with God, who has linked them together.

Because the roots of married life are in heaven and its fruits are on earth.

In the event that the father or mother, or both, are unable to accommodate their children and their family, the Islamic preacher suggests providing what he calls “parenting and motherhood incubators,” that is, a social scientific incubator that teaches the son and daughter lessons on how to deal with the other party.

The social incubator is composed of clients specialized in Sharia, jurisprudence, and sociology.

There are 5 foundations that, if established in the home, will make the family happy.

They are: neglect, forgiveness, and “not storing in a black box,” differentiation, constantly mentioning good deeds, expressing feelings, and thanking God Almighty for the three blessings: “He has become safe in his flock, healthy in his body, and has sustenance for his day.”

Dr. Omar Abdel Kafi stresses the issue of God-fearing for husband and wife so that God may reconcile them to each other, citing Ibn Abbas’s words as evidence: “I know my sins in the bad behavior of my wife and my animals.”

Regarding the impact of social problems - such as: narrow livelihood and lack of livelihood - on the strong covenant between the spouses, Dr. Omar recalled the importance of brotherhood and solidarity between Muslims, and how the Messenger - may God bless him and grant him peace - enabled monotheism and brotherhood in the hearts of Muslims, so he reconciled between the Aws and the Khazraj, and he made peace. Between the immigrants and the Ansar, he ordered the construction of the mosque to establish a relationship between the Creator and the created, and he said, “Build the market” to provide structure and economic strength so that the rich gives to his weak brother.

Medina society during the era of the Messenger - may God bless him and grant him peace - was based on a deep understanding of the first Muslims and those who followed them with kindness, and they understood that “if a Muslim dies of hunger, all the rich people in the Islamic world will be held accountable before God - the Almighty - for having killed him.”

Dr. Omar calls for the necessity of instilling a culture of solidarity and brotherhood among children, and the rich gives to the poor, “and no poor person becomes hungry except due to the glut of the rich.” And if poor people become hungry in Islamic society, there are rich people who did not pay zakat on their money.

Regarding matters targeting the family, the Islamic preacher focused on the issue of faith-based educational immunity that stands against these epidemics and calamities, and that children should be fortified by preoccupying them with the knowledge of the righteous predecessors, instead of preoccupying themselves with artists, players, and others.
