A couple in their 30s from Nagasaki Prefecture were arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department for forging a driver's license in someone else's name.

Approximately 200 fake driver's licenses were found in their home, and the Metropolitan Police Department is conducting a detailed investigation, believing that the couple is a so-called "tool shop" that sells fake driver's licenses to fraud groups.

Those arrested were Yuji Toyoshima (31), a company employee from Nagayo Town, Nagasaki Prefecture, and his wife, Rie Toyoshima (31), a part-time employee.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, he is suspected of forging four driver's licenses in other people's names between August and September.

Each of the fake driver's licenses had the name and address of a real woman printed on them, but the photo was of a different person.

During the investigation of a fraud case in which a person pretended to be someone else, hijacked a smartphone, and illegally stole money from an online banking account, it was discovered that the couple was suspected of giving the perpetrator a fake driver's license.

The couple appears to be so-called ``tool dealers'' who sell fake driver's licenses to fraud groups.

Approximately 200 fake driver's license data were found at his home, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the matter in detail, believing that it was used in approximately 90 fraud cases across the country, totaling over 450 million yen in damages.
