One of the most famous actresses of our time parodies a famous politician who was recently criticized, among other things, for her poor acting performance: after Katie Britt, Republican Senator from Alabama, reacted in a video to US President Joe Biden's State of the Union address , she received criticism for the content of her response as well as the form.

Now Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson has satirically processed Britt's monologue as part of the American NBC comedy show "Saturday Night Live" ("SNL"), which also made fun of Biden's State of the Union speech on Saturday.

In her parody, the 39-year-old actress Johansson, as Britt, is apparently sitting in a kitchen that looks like the one from which the 42-year-old senator began her speech.

While the senator spoke in her video about how the future begins "at kitchen tables like this one," Johansson now says as Britt: "I'm worried about the future of our children and that's why I invited you into this strange, empty kitchen.

Because the Republicans wanted me to appeal to female voters – and women love food.”

The two-time Oscar-nominated actress, who has appeared as an “SNL” host six times, imitates the senator’s exaggerated manner.

She says she's "auditioning for the role of scary mom

" tonight

and will perform a monologue called "This Country is Hell."

In her parody, Johansson also alludes to the criticism of Britt's response.

Like any mother, she will "go from nowhere to a shockingly violent story about sex trafficking," she announces.

“And rest assured that every detail of it is true.

Except the year, the place where it happened, and the president when it happened.”

In her video, Britt talked about a Mexican woman who was a victim of sex trafficking when she was twelve.

The senator attributed the blame for the fate of the woman, whose name was not mentioned by Britt, to the current government.

As independent US journalist Jonathan Katz revealed, the story Britt told was misleading.

On Friday, Katz reported on TikTok that while researching the Mexican woman Britt mentioned, he quickly discovered her identity: The woman was Karla Jacinto Romero, a Mexican citizen who was forced into sexual slavery for four years.

The shocking incidents Britt was referring to did not occur during Biden's time as president or in the United States, according to Katz.
