Despite the occupation forces destroying dozens of mosques in the Gaza Strip, Palestinians in the Beach Camp, west of Gaza City, have begun preparing small squares near the mosques in preparation for the advent of the month of Ramadan.

A camp resident told Al Jazeera that they will perform prayers in these squares instead of the destroyed mosques, and they will rejoice in the arrival of the month of Ramadan despite the sorrows, pain, destruction, and graves of martyrs that are found in some of these squares.
While one of the participants in preparing the squares went on to confirm that they would not leave their land, regardless of the circumstances or pressures, “because whoever clings to his religion is clinging to his homeland.”
