Princess Kate has spoken out in her first public message since her abdominal surgery in January.

"Thank you very much for the kind wishes and continued support over the last two months," wrote the wife of the heir to the British throne, Prince William, in a message on X. "I wish everyone a happy Mother's Day."

With the news of British Mother's Day on Sunday, the palace released a recent photo of Princess Kate.

According to the PA news agency, it was created a few days ago.

The 42-year-old can be seen with her three children.

Her arms are wrapped around the waist of her two younger children, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, who can be seen to her left and right.

Charlotte has sat down with one leg on the armrest.

Her eldest son Prince George, 10, can be seen behind Kate.

The post was signed with a C for Catherine.

The photo is said to come from Prince William, 41.

Prince William visited Kate in the hospital

Princess Kate underwent abdominal surgery in January.

She then spent 13 nights in the London clinic near Regent's Park in central London.

Prince William visited his wife during her stay, as did King Charles III before he received treatment there himself.

The palace has released few details about Kate's condition but said it was not cancer.

It also said they would only report on her recovery process if there was important new information.

According to media reports, Princess Kate was seen in public for the first time at the beginning of the week.

She was a passenger with her mother, Carole Middleton, in a car that was seen near Kate's home in Windsor.

The British newspapers “Daily Mirror” and “Sun,” among others, reported this on Monday evening.

It is unclear when Princess Kate will resume official duties.

Her office in Kensington Palace recently announced that this would probably not be the case again until after Easter.
