Get out?

No thanks!

Emergency services in Erfurt spared no effort to save a cat from a car.

Only with the help of a car mechanic was it finally possible to free the animal from its predicament.

According to a police report, it had crawled into the underbody of a car.

In a workshop with a lifting platform, the mechanic loosened the underbody so that the cat could be saved.

The police and fire department had previously tried in vain to get the four-legged friend out from under the car with a landing net.

The owner of the car alerted the police on Friday after the cat that had slipped under the car reacted fearfully to attempts to lure it out.

The four-legged friend was taken to an animal shelter after the rescue operation.

The cat should stay there until its owner is found.

Erfurt police officers were out on an animal mission a second time at the weekend: They kept two runaway ponies, which more or less answered well to the names "Goldfax" and "Karino", under control near a motorway until the owner put them back in the paddock had driven.
