In Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, which is about to open Komatsu Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, various types of ``Komatsu Pudding'' devised by confectionery shops and others were unveiled to make it a new specialty.

The products unveiled in Komatsu City on the 8th were 31 types of original puddings named ``Komatsu Pudding'' created by 21 shops including local Western and Japanese confectionery shops.

An association formed by confectionery shops and other organizations planned to revitalize the local area in the wake of the Shinkansen extension, and they focused on pudding because a pudding-themed character serves as the city's cheerleader.

Among the products that were unveiled were ones made with hojicha from a long-established tea store, and ones with anga pudding flavored inside Daifuku, and the people who sampled them enjoyed the innovative appearance and taste.

In addition, a pudding modeled after the color of a Kabuki curtain was also released, in honor of the Kabuki play "Kanjincho," which is set in Ataka-no-Seki in Komatsu City.

Tadashi Nagaike, chairman of the Komatsu Confectionery Association, which organized the event, said, ``Komatsu Pudding is very delicious, and each one is ingenious, so I hope people from all over the country come to Komatsu City and try them.''
