Israeli media devoted a large amount of space to talking about the scenes behind the negotiations of the ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners in the Gaza Strip, as well as the deterioration of American-Israeli relations, according to what was revealed by the visit of Minister in the Israeli War Council, Benny Gantz, to Washington.

The Israeli channel "Kan 11" revealed that what was new requested by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) was that Israel not be able to object to the demand to release prisoners of Arabs in Israel and of Jerusalemites holding blue ID cards.

She indicated that Israel could accept the idea of releasing prisoners from Jerusalem even though they carry blue IDs, adding that they are "in no way considered Israeli citizens."

The channel quoted Israeli officials as saying that they believe that Hamas is seeking to escalate the situation inside Israel during the month of Ramadan.

In turn, the Israeli "Channel 13" said that the most difficult position for Israel lies in demanding that Hamas release all the leaders of the second intifada, such as Abdullah Barghouti and Abbas Al-Sayyed, and not just the prominent Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti.

She added that the final cessation of war and the complete withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip is the issue that prevented the possibility of consensus at all times.

The Israeli media also touched on the relations between Washington and Tel Aviv, describing them as having reached the stage of real anger, as American officials said that Washington was preventing Europe - especially Britain - from imposing sanctions related to supplying weapons to Israel.

These officials added - according to Israeli Channel 13 - “If these sanctions are imposed, we will have no choice but to stand against them.”

For its part, Kan 11 highlighted Gantz's visit to Britain, in which he held Israel alone responsible for the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the necessity of providing food to the population as the occupying power in the Strip.
