According to the 5th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, last month they received information from the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology, which was conducting a marine survey, that they had discovered a sunken ship on the ocean floor off the coast of Susami Town, Wakayama Prefecture.



When the Japan Coast Guard Headquarters analyzed footage of the ship taken by a remote-controlled unmanned probe, they found a fish in the stern of the ship that went missing after it left a port in Ehime Prefecture with six male crew members on board four years ago. It has been confirmed that the name of the carrier ship ``Shinko Maru No. 8'' is on the ship.



The whereabouts of the six men between the ages of 25 and 56 who were on board the ship at the time are unknown, and the 5th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters will continue the search and investigate the cause of the ship's sinking.



The ship was found on the ocean floor at a depth of approximately 1,500 meters, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of the coast of Susami Town, Wakayama Prefecture.
