Based on true events, director Thea Sharrock (“A Whole Six Months”) humorously tells of a big scandal in a small town.

Produced by the makers of “Three Billboards” and “Banshees of Inisherin”.

The vivacious Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley) has little in common with the pious Edith Swan (Olivia Colman), except that they are neighbors in the 1920s English seaside town of Littlehampton.

But one day Edith and others in town receive offensive letters full of nasty accusations in foul language, and suspicion immediately falls on Rose.

Scotland Yard is investigating and Rose even threatens to lose custody of her daughter.

As the scandalous letters continue to plague the city, only police officer Gladys Moss suspects that something is wrong and Rose may not be the culprit after all...
