It was discovered that a driver on the Kominato Railway, which runs through Chiba Prefecture, had repeatedly committed fraud, such as failing to undergo an alcohol test as required by law, and instead having someone take the test instead. and other improvements were recommended.

According to the Kanto Transport Bureau and Kominato Railway, the person who committed the fraud was a male driver in his 50s.

Last December, an employee reported to his superiors that ``abuse tests were being rigged,'' and an investigation revealed that the driver had been having the conductor take the test on his behalf for at least several years. It was learned that he had refused the test.

The law requires that alcohol tests be conducted and the results recorded before driving, so if a person refuses to take the test, the station manager will take the test on his/her behalf and record the results. That means it was being recorded.

The Kanto Transport Bureau conducted an audit after receiving a report from Kominato Railway in January, and on the 8th, based on the results, they decided to verify the implementation status of the inspection and investigate the cause, and to improve the safety management system. We issued improvement instructions asking for reinforcement.

We then ask them to report their improvement measures within one month.

Kominato Railway said that it had fired the driver in January this year, saying, ``We apologize for the concern and inconvenience caused. We will work on improvements and prevent it from happening again.''
