Baishui She Village is the hometown of Xie You, the "Lord God".
Among many folk beliefs, Xie You, like the "sea god" Mazu, is a real local figure who has been enshrined by the imperial court many times and turned into a god from a human being. 30 legendary stories of Xie You protecting the country and the people, including "Transforming people and eliminating bandits".
Xie You was born in the second year of Zhiping in the Northern Song Dynasty (1065 AD), and became an adult in the second year of Yuanyou (1087 AD) in the Northern Song Dynasty under the big banyan tree in Liexi, Sanyuan District.
During the Southern Song Dynasty, Emperor Gaozong granted Xie You the title of "General Guanghui, Xianlie Zunwang", Emperor Duzong granted him the title of "Emperor Sun and Moon Yingguang", and the Emperor Xiaozong granted him the title of "Zhengshun" temple for the world to worship Xie You. He is regarded as the "Lord God" by the local people.
"Xie You Culture" is an important carrier and link for cultural exchanges across the Taiwan Straits.
At the end of last year, the Taiwan Association for the Promotion of Arts and Culture of Ethnic Minorities signed a rural integrated development agreement with the Baishui She Village Committee and Sanming Wuhua Gongshe Agricultural Development Co., Ltd.
According to the agreement, in the next ten years, the Taiwan Chinese Ethnic Minority Arts and Cultural Creativity Promotion Association will give full play to the artistic and cultural advantages of Taiwan's ethnic minorities, strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Baishui She Village, complement each other's advantages, and build Baishui Village, Baishui Village Farm, and Mingtai Ecological Agriculture and other cultural tourism projects, attracting no less than 2,000 people/times per year from Mingtai’s in-depth rural health and wellness clients.
"The original ecology, pure She township, and good ecological environment have created Baishui's unique rural health and wellness conditions." Wang Xiangjing, head of Sanming Wuhua Gongshe Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., said that Taiwanese professionals and college students will be introduced to participate in Baishui. The architectural planning and design of the Shuixiangju project creates a country accommodation and mountain resort center that integrates the characteristics of both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
