The first facility in Japan where visitors can exhibit and interact with the octopus, which is said to be one of the largest octopuses in the world, was completed at an aquarium in Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture, and opened on the 7th.

The new facility ``Mizudakokan'' was installed inside the Echizen Matsushima Aquarium in Mikuni-cho, Sakai City, and opened on the 7th in time for the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen in the prefecture, which is approaching next week.

The water octopus is one of the world's largest octopuses, measuring over 3 meters in length, and inhabits the sea north of Hokuriku in Japan.

Although it is difficult to raise octopuses after hatching, and there are no success stories, this aquarium has been trying to raise octopuses for over 30 years.

In addition to the parent octopuses, the facility's aquarium houses baby octopuses that are about 1 centimeter long, and you can see them swimming hard through the glass.

You can also put your hand into the aquarium and touch the octopus directly.

In addition, there will be a corner where you can see what kind of food is mixed and fed, and you can learn about the ecology of the water octopus, which is still a mystery.

Kazuki Takahashi of the Echizen Matsushima Aquarium, who is in charge of keeping the octopus, said, ``This is a unique octopus exhibition facility in the country, so I hope many people will come and see it.''

This "Mizudakokan" can be visited every day.
