  • Chronicle David Broncano, the 'golfillo' that revolutionizes the henhouse

RTVE

already has, in the absence of approval from the Board of Directors, what is going to be the big signing for the next television season:

David Broncano

and

La Resistencia

.

As EL MUNDO has learned exclusively, the signing of the presenter and the program produced by

El Terrat

has already been approved by the Public Corporation's Purchasing Committee and it is expected that an Extraordinary Board of Directors will be convened next week to to approve the signing.

According to three sources familiar with the negotiation, RTVE's offer is for

three years

with

a maximum expenditure of between 12 and 14 million per season

and for daily broadcast in

access time,

right after Telediario.

The intention of the public entity is to compete against

El Hormiguero

with a program with

a younger

target and with a less conservative editorial line than that of

Pablo Motos

' program .

The Resistance

meets these requirements perfectly.

Although different sources assure that the contract is practically closed in the absence of approval from the Board of Directors, those around

Broncano

and his production company assure that they have several offers on the table and that none have yet been accepted.

The truth is that La Resistencia

's contract

with Movistar Plus+, where the program is currently broadcast, ends this June.

And, although they insist that they are also negotiating with

Movistar Plus+

, sources close to RTVE confirm that the agreement is almost closed in the absence of small details and, of course, the approval of the Council, which has to give the go-ahead to the project. exceed two million the program's budget for each season.

Broncano

and

El Terrat

have not only tried to continue on

Movistar Plus+

or go to

RTVE

, but they have also negotiated with other networks, including

Telecinco

.

However, the requirement to close a contract for three seasons was a red line for the main Mediaset network, since no one guarantees that a program that has always been broadcast on a platform with a niche audience can work on general television where the public is completely different.

For a private television, signing three seasons means taking a mortgage for all that time if the program does not work, which is why the negotiations did not end up coming together.

It was then that

RTVE

found out that there were possibilities of signing

David Broncano

and taking

La Resistencia

as its big bet for a slot in which it has been impossible to compete for years since

El Hormiguero

is the most watched program on television with an average of 2,290,000 spectators at the end of 2023.

La 1 premiered the 4 Estrellas

series in April 2023

with the intention of creating a brand in that complicated strip, aware that competing against

Pablo Motos

and his ants was impossible.

In fact, Telecinco itself took a gamble at the beginning of this season with the

Cuentos Chinos

program , presented by

Jorge Javier Vázquez

, with the aim of little by little taking over the throne of

El Hormiguero

.

However, the program did not garner the expected audience data and the network decided to cancel it two weeks after its premiere.

However, the possibility of having

Broncano

and

La Resistencia

in the

access

has been valued by

RTVE

as the opportunity they were waiting for to compete on certain equal terms with

Pablo Motos

.

La Resistencia

is an irreverent, humorous talk show, with a presenter highly valued by the audience and with the advantage that it attracts young audiences, a target that rejects linear television programming.

Furthermore, like

El Hormiguero

, the most famous faces in music, culture, cinema and other fields have no problem going to

La Resistencia

, but rather, as is the case with Motos, they are happy to go for the promotion what it means to sit in Broncano's program.

Although those around the program assure that it has not yet been signed,

RTVE

has already decided on the month in which

La Resistencia

would premiere : in September of this year, from Monday to Thursday, after the second edition Telediario.

That is, the same days and at the same time as

El Hormiguero

.

The most curious thing is that if the Board of Directors approves the contract with

El Terrat

and the contract is closed, David Broncano will not only face

El Hormiguero

but one of his great friends,

Pablo Motos

, with whom during all these years he has maintained an absurd, but fun pique at the expense of

El Hormiguero

and

La Resistencia

, which has led them to star in the occasional television

confrontation

.

The typical hesitation between colleagues that is closer to becoming a reality with his signing for RTVE.

Javier del Pino

-Cadena Ser- was the discoverer of Broncano when he was looking for comedians for the weekend morning program in La Ser. He had made his first steps before as a collaborator and guest comedian in some other program, but it was thanks to the opportunity of Del Pino on the radio where Broncano found the path he should and wanted to follow.

In 2011 he began working as a collaborator on the

Hoy por Hoy

program with the

Broncano Questions

section .

From there to

Vivir que son dos días

, where he continued doing the same thing, and then his first great success

La vida modern

, the radio program he directed along with two other greats of humor,

Ignatius Farray and Quequé

, and with which they achieved two Waves.

TV would arrive later, but it would arrive and in style.

Modern life

was the key that opened the door to the small screen.

If on the radio he had Javier del Pino as godfather, on television he had

Andreu Buenafuente

, the man who let him enter his

Late Motiv

, giving a place to that

Modern Life

in his program.

"I was surprised by his ability to question questions and the resources he had to graciously solve any situation he had in front of him

," Buenafuente then explained.

Broncano did not waste the opportunity and the production companies did not waste Broncano.

Buenafuente's aphonia left him as a substitute presenter, and what was going to be a replacement led to him being given his own program in 2016 on #0, the Movistar Plus+ channel,

LocoMundo

, which he presented until 2018, when He realized that Broncano's talent needed more space.

The Resistance

was born

.

The program was created from scratch and not only bears the Broncano seal, but

is Broncano itself

.

La Resistencia

has set the bar very high during its six seasons broadcast on the platform.

Not only does it drive the audience crazy, but it drives the very characters he brings crazy to do his peculiar and now legendary interviews.

They fight to go, they do not hide that they dream of that moment and when the opportunity comes they do not hide the pride they feel at being able to sit in Broncano's chair.

The key to its success has names and surnames:

their names are David Broncano, Ricardo Castella and Jorge Ponce -the other directors-

.

The presenter has made simplicity a triumph in capital letters.

In fact, it is the simplicity of the program - although it may not seem like it - that makes even Buenafuente himself - it is his producer,

El Terrat

, which endorses the program - to be envious of what his pupil does every night. .

The program

lacks an established script and almost everything arises improvised

.

It seems incredible given the times on the small screen, but the "pachacho", as they call him, knows how to do it.

The core of the program is made up of its unpredictable interviews with guests ranging from big stars

- Gerard Piqué, Jordi Évole or Ian Gibson -

to characters from the more independent scene

- Noemí Casquet, Bad Gyal or Salva Espín

.

Its essence is the unique character of the interviewer, who asks everything that comes to mind without breaking a sweat and who has asked questions like "how much money do you have in the bank?"

or "how much have you fucked in the last month?"

a whole tradition that will have to be seen if it has a place in

prime time

and on public television.
