EL MUNDO was able to chat with
Madrueño
before he embarked on his trip to Honduras to discuss how he faces this new season with the experience of last year, when he replaced
Lara Álvarez
, and reveals some of the new features that viewers will be able to enjoy from this season onwards. week.
How are you facing this second year on
Survivor
? I'm more prepared than last year.
I'm really looking forward to it, I'm traveling with more security because I already know where I'm going and I think we're going to surprise viewers with numerous new features.
I think it is going to be a program quite different from what has been seen in other years. How do you remember the last edition? I went with a little fear that became a challenge for me.
This year I feel as if I were at the base of Everest looking at the summit from below, but with great enthusiasm and great enthusiasm for everything that is going to come.
One of the things that I have fallen in love with most about
Survivors
is that this program is completely alive and in each live show everything changes from the first minute.
"Last year I went to Survivors with a little fear, this year I'm really looking forward to it"
Does the fact that a new production company does it (Cuarzo Producciones has replaced Bulldog TV) have anything to do with it? I think it does a little bit.
That's why I think it's going to have many things that have never been done, perhaps some that haven't been done for many years.
This year there are going to be many games in Honduras, which is what the spectators demand, because people on the street tell me so.
That's what you like most about
Survivors
. What's going to be the most difficult thing for you to leave in Spain for so many months? First of all, my family and my partner.
Then to my dogs (he has two mastiffs), my cat, my six chickens and my pheasant.
We have a wonderful painting (laughs).
I'm going to miss them a lot because I spend a lot of time with them and you know how much animals accompany you, so... Although in Honduras I have little time because the pace of work is very high, they are part of my home and I will have them in my head all the time. How does your partner handle being apart for so long? He doesn't handle it badly because he is a fairly independent person.
Well, both, and I think that's healthy.
He has a lot of social life, much more than me, although people don't believe it (laughs).
And he is very athletic, he competes and, the truth is, he has no shortage of plans.
Good for that part.
Furthermore, he is a very generous person to me and he is very happy that he has this opportunity again.
My parents take it worse because I am an only child and they are very sad that I am gone for so long.
They obviously know that this is a privilege and a great opportunity for me and they understand that, of course.
"I'm an only child and my parents are a little upset that I'm away for so many months, but they understand"
What is your daily life like in Honduras? We have very little free time because there are three weekly galas, plus one or two
access prime time
, preparing everything that happens in the program, testing the games... Between gala and gala we rehearse the next day's program.
Furthermore, on the same day of the gala we not only recorded it, but we also did all the rehearsals in the morning and the dynamics.
Being in
reality TV
is like being in a bubble, since it is constantly in motion and allows us to be creative all the time, which is what fascinates me most about
Survivor
.
Fridays are our days off, but we have a time difference of 7 or 8 hours with Spain because it coincides with the time change at the end of this month.
While my family in Spain is going to bed, I am starting my day in Honduras, and vice versa. What have you packed this year in the suitcase that you missed last year? This year I have done much better, without a doubt, because last year I put in too many things and then I didn't know why I had taken them.
The first thing I put in was my diving goggles and fins because in the little free time I have, if I can, I will dive a little because it gives me life.
I will bring food that I miss from Spain and my tea, because I recognize that I can't live without it and it makes me feel at home. Have you had any advance notice about the outfits that you will wear in Honduras for the live connections? Yes, and I'm amazed because they have created changing rooms for me that are completely new.
What viewers are going to see has never been done in
Survivors
.
And it has nothing to do with the line I wore last year either...
