“Étienne Dinet”, when art brings France and Algeria together

With his luminous and moving paintings, populated by charmers, dancers, merchants, talkers, lovers, muezzins in the Algerian oases, the French painter Étienne Dinet (1861-1929) managed to seduce and fascinate both colonial France and the 'Independent Algeria.

Today recognized as a master of Algerian painting, the Institute of the Arab World (IMA) in Paris is dedicating the first exhibition to him in a French institution in a century: “Étienne Dinet, Algerian passions”.
