In a case in which multiple members of Nihon University's American football team were arrested and charged with concealing illegal drugs, the Metropolitan Police Department has newly referred one male member to the public prosecutor on suspicion of violating the Special Drug Provisions Act.

This is the 11th member or graduate to be charged, and the Metropolitan Police Department has concluded this series of investigations.

The person whose case was referred to prosecutors on the 6th was a third-year male member of Nihon University's American football club.



According to the Metropolitan Police Department, he was suspected of violating the Special Drug Provisions Act for possessing an illegal drug believed to be marijuana in Tokyo in February last year.



Regarding Nihon University's American football club, a third-year male member of the club was charged with violating the Narcotics Control Law for having pill fragments containing stimulant ingredients in the student dormitory, thinking they were drugs, and the Tokyo District Court He was sentenced to 1 year and 4 months in prison, suspended for 3 years.



So far, three people have been arrested and seven people have been referred to prosecutors, bringing the number of members and alumni charged with this case to 11.



The Metropolitan Police Department has now concluded its investigation into the illegal drug incident involving the Nihon University American Football Club.



In response to a series of incidents, the university officially disbanded the club in January this year and withdrew from the Kanto Student Federation.
