Hainan’s passenger volume reached a new high this year during the Spring Festival travel season with nearly 9 million passengers

Among them, more than 4.896 million passengers and 1.136 million vehicles crossed the Qiongzhou Strait, a year-on-year increase of 20.8% and 10.7% respectively.

　　During the Spring Festival, the Hainan Maritime Safety Department continued to strengthen the safety supervision of passenger ships, dangerous goods transport ships, cruise yachts and ferries, especially during the Spring Festival holidays, Lantern Festival and other key peak periods of passenger flow, increasing on-site supervision and strengthening the supervision of passenger terminals. Intensify inspection and enforcement efforts at the tourist boat site and on the front lines of ferries, and strictly investigate illegal behaviors such as fatigue driving and overloading of crew members.

At the same time, we will strengthen on-site patrols and electronic patrols in key waters such as the Qiongzhou Strait, Sanya and Qionghai Boao maritime tourist waters.

There have been no water traffic safety accidents above the general level in Hainan's jurisdiction, achieving zero casualties, zero water pollution, and smooth and orderly water traffic.

　　Since the Spring Festival this year, the passenger and rolling traffic volume in Qiongzhou Strait has increased rapidly.

Based on the actual situation of passenger ro-ro transport in the Qiongzhou Strait, the Hainan Maritime Department has formulated maritime safety and risk management and control measures, strengthened on-site supervision of key links such as passenger and vehicle separation, new energy vehicle loading, and dangerous goods entrainment, and implemented east-west navigation Various measures such as ship control and "point-to-point" safety reminders for ro-ro passenger ships ensure the safety of ro-ro passenger transportation.

　　According to statistics, during the Spring Festival travel period, Hainan's maritime department discovered and corrected 555 ship violations, coordinated and handled 16 dangerous situations, and rescued 56 people in distress.
