The fact that every person should know every other person from six to seven corners was the result of various studies.

A relationship across six corners is rarer.

According to the US show “Today,” this is exactly the case with Taylor Swift and the poet Emily Dickinson (1830 to 1886).

This was reported by “Today,” citing the genealogy company Ancestry.

Accordingly, Swift and Dickinson are sixth cousins.

According to genealogists, Swift and Dickinson are both descended from the English immigrant Jonathan Gillette, who is said to have immigrated to Connecticut in the 17th century.

Gillette is therefore both Swift's and Dickinson's great-grandfather, with a few Urs in between.

Swift's ancestors are said to have lived in Connecticut for six generations until their part of the family settled in northwestern Pennsylvania, where they are said to have married into the Swift family line.

Fans of Swift (Swifties) have long speculated to what extent the pop star is inspired by the famous lyricist.

During her acceptance speech for the Nashville Songwriters Association's 2022 Songwriter-Artist of the Decade Award, Swift said, "If my lyrics sound like a letter written by Emily Dickinson's great-grandmother while sewing a lace curtain, then I'm writing in the quill genre. «

In addition, Swift's ninth studio album was announced on December 10, 2020, Dickinson's birthday.

According to some Swifties, the album title “Evermore” could also be a homage to Dickinson.

Evermore sounds like “forevermore,” a word that appears in the poem “One Sister Have I in Our House” by Dickinson.

Emily Dickinson wrote more than 1,700 poems in her life, only a few were published during her lifetime.

The poet only became famous after her death.
