Early on Monday evening, the Bolzano fire department was called out because a fire had broken out in an apartment on the third floor of an apartment building.
According to the fire department, the flames were quickly extinguished, but heavy smoke spread throughout the apartment.
While extinguishing the fire, "the firefighters found two cats lying on the floor in the apartment with no signs of life," according to the Facebook page of the South Tyrol State Fire Brigade Association.
The animals were taken outside and given oxygen.
And indeed: According to the information, the two cats recovered and were therefore successfully rescued.
