A recent study carried out by the NaturAvignon laboratory shows that 60% of French people use food supplements.

But these supplements are not safe for your health and it is preferable to discuss them beforehand either with a pharmacist or a doctor.

Whether it is collagen, zinc, magnesium or vitamin C, nearly 27% of French people use food supplements daily.

According to a study carried out by the NaturAvignon laboratory, 60% even claim to use this type of supplement, whether in the form of capsule, syrup or powder.

But the problem is that the survey also shows that only 3% of French people are aware of what they swallow.

Possible side effects

“I think we don't find out much and from the moment it says it increases energy, we pay and take it,” confides Laure, a big consumer of supplements.

However, these products sold freely can have health consequences,

 as explained by

Fanny Huret, Nutrivigilance project manager at ANSES (National National Food Safety Agency).

“Always talk about it before consuming it, either with your pharmacist or your doctor,” she assures.

“Even more so if the consumer has chronic illnesses. We can still observe undesirable effects which require hospitalization and which can threaten the vital prognosis of consumers.”

Note that Fanny Huret also reminded that no food supplement replaces a varied and balanced diet.
