The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, said that the United States of America does not deserve to be thanked for its intention to drop aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, considering this as a “laughter on the chin” since it supported the occupation in its war and has the ability to stop it.

On Friday, US President Joe Biden announced that the United States would carry out an airdrop of food aid to Gaza, while Strategic Policy Coordinator at the US National Security Council, John Kirby, said that his country would redouble its efforts to open a humanitarian sea corridor for large amounts of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

In an analysis for Al Jazeera, Al-Duwairi said that America does not deserve to be thanked for this aid, because if it had only threatened not to send ammunition to the occupation, the military operations would have stopped, and it would have been better for it not to send more than 200 planes and giant trucks carrying missiles to kill the Gazans.

He stressed that if Washington had issued real decisions to prevent military support to Israel, the latter would not have been able to continue the war, and it would not have needed to open a sea corridor to deliver aid in light of the presence of the Sixth Fleet in the ocean.

A green leaf for Netanyahu

Al-Duwairi expressed his fear that this American approach aims primarily to present a green card to the occupation Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to continue his crimes against the people of Gaza, under the pretext that there is no longer a tragedy or famine after showing a scene of the flow of aid to the Strip.

The military expert stressed that America's lack of thanks and praise for its announcement of sending aid to Gaza comes from a strategic and values perspective, as it is the one who created the crisis and is also the spearhead of the scene for financing the war and sending generals and soldiers to participate in it.

According to Al-Duwairi, the United States’ tendency to choose to send aid by dropping it from the air does not reflect inability, but rather is evidence of the famous phrase “laughter on the chin,” because it has all the cards of power, and has the ability to limit the Israeli role if it wants.

Regarding the possibility of carrying out landing operations, Al-Duwairi explained that based on the capabilities and capabilities available to America, the matter for it is simple, as the appropriate atmosphere and weights will be chosen, and the height, wind speed, and plane are taken into account, and then aid can be dropped within an area of 100 square meters.
