Police operation in Bothel, Lower Saxony

In Lower Saxony, a Bundeswehr soldier shot four people on Friday night.
The police in Rotenburg and the Verden public prosecutor's office said a child was among the dead.
The crime scenes are in the municipalities of Scheeßel and Bothel, and the motive could be family-related.
According to investigators, the suspect turned himself in shortly after the fatal shots and was arrested by the police.
The police continued to operate with numerous forces in the affected communities.
The motive has not yet been conclusively clarified; the investigation is in full swing, it was said.
