Vladimir Petkovic, new Algeria coach
The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) formalized this Thursday, February 29, the appointment of Vladimir Petkovic as coach of the Fennecs.
Swiss coach Vladimir Petkovic is the new coach of the Algerian national football team.

The FAF announces the finalization of the agreement appointing the new national coach.
The Bosnian coach Mr. Vladimir PETKOVIC is the new national coach
,” we read in a press release.
The new national coach will arrive in Algiers on Sunday March 3 and will host a press conference on Monday.

Petkovic's contract is expected to be for two and a half years.
The new coach's objectives are to qualify for CAN 2025 and the 2026 World Cup. He will start next month in two friendly matches at home: against Bolivia (March 22) and South Africa ( March 26).
The Swiss, former coach of Bordeaux, will not have it easy.
He takes up a selection in full doubt.
Before the fiasco in Ivory Coast, the Greens had not made any sparks during the CAN 2021 in Cameroon where they had also taken the door at the end of the first round.
The Fennecs also missed out on qualifying for the last World Cup in Qatar.
Vladimir Petkovic was Switzerland coach from 2014 to 2021. He reached the round of 16 of Euro 2016 in France and the 2018 World Cup in Russia, before failing in the quarter-final against Spain during Euro 2021.
