Early on Thursday morning the all-clear was finally given: the neighbors of former RAF terrorist Daniela Klette were allowed to return to their apartments in the Berlin district of Kreuzberg.

At 5:18 a.m. the Berlin police posted the corresponding post on the online platform X.

The apartment building was evacuated by the police and all residents had to leave their apartments.

Later, some apartments in another house were also evacuated.

The entire street was still cordoned off, the police spokesman said in the morning.

Officers found several potentially dangerous items in Klette's apartment.

On Wednesday evening, forensic scientists took a grenade out of the house and put it in a security box.

The police said they were later rendered harmless at another location.

Early in the morning, investigators removed another potentially dangerous item and loaded it into a special vehicle.

There is also talk of a third discovery.

The Berlin police did not provide any further information about the suspicious items.

She referred to the investigators in Lower Saxony, who initially did not comment in detail either.

Daniela Klette once belonged to the terrorist organization Red Army Faction (RAF).

She is said to have gone underground at the end of 1989 to join the RAF.

The Federal Prosecutor General (GBA) assumes this.

Until the left-wing terrorist group was disbanded in 1998, she was said to have been involved in three politically motivated attacks.

Klette lived underground under an assumed name until police arrested her earlier this week.

Now she is supposed to lead the investigators on the trail of her accomplices Ernst-Volker Staub, 69, and Burkhard Garweg, 55.

The 65-year-old did not provide any information about the allegations to the responsible investigating judge at the Verden district court, as a spokeswoman for the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice said.
