Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Nishida revealed at the House of Representatives General Affairs Committee that nine years ago, when he was a member of the Ishikawa Prefectural Assembly, he had participated in an event affiliated with the former Unification Church. He apologized for not confirming his statement that there was no relationship.
