Police have made three new arrests in connection with last month's robbery in which a Chinese man was robbed of 25 million yen in cash at a karaoke shop in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, and a high school student was arrested.

Three people were arrested: Kotaro Ito (22) of Katsushika Ward, Tokyo, Kohei Uehara (21) of Izumi Ward, Yokohama City, and Jyoji Tajima (40) of Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture. is.

According to the police, the three are suspected of robbing a 38-year-old Chinese man of 25 million yen in cash on the 14th of last month in a private room at a karaoke shop in Nishikawaguchi, Kawaguchi City.

Police have not revealed whether the suspect was admitted or denied, as it would hinder the investigation.

According to investigators, the victim said at the time, ``I went there to give money to an acquaintance in China.'' She met a person who claimed to be an intermediary, and was told that ``another person was coming,'' so she waited inside the room. As he was doing so, a group of three people showed up later, sprayed him with pepper spray, and robbed him of his cash.

An 18-year-old high school student was arrested in this incident, and when police investigated the whereabouts of the three who fled from security camera footage, they suspected that Ito was involved as an intermediary and two others as perpetrators. He was arrested on the 28th.

Some of the suspects said, ``There was a transaction and there was a lot of money, so I was instructed to steal it,'' and the police believe that there are other people involved in the incident and are investigating.

Security camera footage shows suspects

Security camera footage from the area obtained by NHK showed the suspects around the time of the incident.

A person in black clothes stops in front of a building that houses a karaoke parlor on the right side of the screen while talking on a cell phone.

According to investigators, the suspect is Ito, who appears to be acting as an intermediary, and then leaves the building.

A few minutes later, multiple people start running out of the building one after another.

Police believe he is the perpetrator.

Camera footage taken from a different angle also showed the same people fleeing.
