The Tiergarten district court sentenced actor Kida Khodr Ramadan to ten months in prison without parole for driving without a license.

The “Bild” newspaper and the “Berliner Morgenpost” report this, among others.

The court also imposed a driver's license ban for one year.

The current trial involved four cases of intentional driving without a license between February and November 2023. Since the 47-year-old already has a relevant criminal record, judge Frank Trieneck saw no chance of a suspended sentence.

Ramadan made a comprehensive confession and gave humanely understandable reasons for the crimes.

However, since the actor had already been noticed for traffic offenses, Triebeck did not expect a favorable social prognosis.

However, he remained below the punishment requested by the public prosecutor, who had pleaded for 14 months.

Ramadan's defense attorney had requested a suspended sentence.

Ramadan had already been sentenced to ten months in prison in 2022 for repeatedly driving without a license.

The actor defends himself against having to serve his sentence in prison.

His defense attorney has requested a postponement of sentence and a subsequent hearing.

However, the district court has not yet decided on this.

According to a court spokeswoman, it could take some time before this happens.

In the award-winning television series "4 Blocks", Ramadan played the head of a criminal clan of Arab origin in Berlin-Neukölln, which has to deal with murder, violence, drug deals, other gangsters and the LKA investigators.
