On the 19th of this month, when children at an elementary school in Tokyo's Suginami Ward tried to drink tea from a water bottle they brought home after school, they discovered that the contents had been replaced with a liquid that smelled like chlorine.

Although the child drank a small amount, there were no health problems, and the school is taking measures such as consulting with the police.

According to Suginami Ward's Suginami No. 9 Elementary School, etc., on the 19th of this month, a student at the elementary school tried to drink tea from a water bottle that he had brought home after school, but it tasted strange, so he immediately threw it up, but ended up drinking a small amount. That is to say.

However, there are no health risks to children.

The parents then took the water bottle to school, and when the principal examined it, they found that it was not tea but a yellowish liquid with a chlorine-like odor.

According to the school, the child drank tea immediately after arriving at school that day and did not drink it until after leaving the school, but the classroom where the water bottle was kept was left unattended due to classes being held elsewhere. The contents of the water bottle appear to have been replaced, as there is also a belt.

The school contacted the local police station on the 26th and provided the liquid for a detailed examination.

In addition to identifying the liquid, the police plan to conduct further investigation by interviewing parents and schools about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The school will explain this incident to the students at school-wide assemblies, and will also hold an information session for parents in the same grade on the 26th, and for parents in other grades on the 27th.

Principal Yoshinobu Iwasaki said, ``At first, we thought it was just a prank between the children, but we should have consulted the police right away.We want to do our best to take care of the children.''
