Scene from “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”: It wasn’t that colorful in Glasgow

The ads promised giant mushrooms, candy canes and chocolate fountains, as well as special audio-visual effects performed by dancing orange men.

But the announced "celebration of chocolate in all its delicious forms" in the Glasgow suburb of Whiteinch consisted only of a sparsely decorated warehouse with a few plastic props, a small bouncy castle and a few backdrops pinned to the walls.

Families who had paid up to 35 pounds (a good 40 euros) per person complained, children burst into tears, and the police even had to come, as the British "Guardian" reports.

Finally, “Willy's Chocolate Experience” had to be abruptly stopped after about half the time.

The organizer House of Illuminati had previously promised an “impressive experience”.

The event was supposed to be based on the Warner Bros film “Wonka,” which stars Timothée Chalamet in the role of a young chocolate entrepreneur.

The film is basically the prequel to the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl, which has been filmed several times.

But the event did not deliver what it promised.

Photos shared on social media show an almost impressive sadness.

According to media reports, the event was stopped a few hours after it opened.

Visitors angrily demanded their money back.

Unfortunately, the organizers apparently failed to inform later visitors of the cancellation, so they found themselves standing in front of the closed gates.

Angry parents reported crying children in a Facebook group, they called the event a "farce" and the organizers "cowboys."

Police Scotland confirmed officers had been called to the venue following complaints.

In a statement, the House of Illuminati apologized to its customers for a "very stressful and frustrating day."

Unfortunately, we were let down by others “at the last minute”.

"We did our best to continue and pull off the event and now realize that we probably should have canceled it first thing in the morning." Visitors would get their money back.
