It is expected to remain stormy in the north for the time being.

After it was already very windy on Wednesday, storms and severe weather are forecast for Thursday, according to the German Weather Service.

A small-scale hurricane depression is forming over the North Sea, which could bring severe squalls, especially on Friday night.

With a low probability there could even be hurricane-like gusts of up to 110 kilometers per hour, especially on the North Sea coast.

According to experts, the reason for the stormy weather is a low near Iceland, which brings mild air masses to Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The wind is expected to ease towards Friday morning.

However, it is expected to remain changeable and rainy into the weekend.

While temperatures between 9 and 14 degrees are expected on Thursday, it should cool down in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein on Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to drop to around 0 degrees, especially at night.

As a result, the weather service expects sleet and the risk of slippery roads in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein on Saturday and Sunday.
