As TASS clarifies, citing data from the Heliogeophysical Service of the Institute of Applied Geophysics, the outbreaks occurred on February 22.

The previous class X outbreak was noted on February 16.

After it, the level of influence of solar X-ray bursts on the Earth’s ionosphere, according to space weather data, was at level R3 (“strong”) on a scale of five indicators, where the highest is R5 (“extreme”).

The head of the Space Weather Forecast Center, leading researcher at the IZMIRAN Cosmic Ray Laboratory and Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Artyom Abunin said that a new solar flare will not cause a magnetic storm and is therefore harmless.

As reported, the solar flare was one of the largest in five years.
