In Wetzlar, Hesse, the police and the Office for the Protection of the Constitution say they prevented a serious crime by suspected right-wing extremists. Police in Giessen said there were indications that several suspected members of a right-wing extremist group were planning an attack on a Wetzlar citizen. Further investigations would have made this suspicion more concrete.

The group planned to attack the unsuspecting man at his home address last Saturday. The five people aged 15, 16 and 19 were previously arrested. She is being investigated on suspicion of conspiring to commit a crime.

According to the information, the investigators confiscated several pieces of evidence. The five detainees were released after their identities were established, identification processing was carried out and further police measures were taken. The officials did not provide any further information about the man who was apparently the target of the planned attack.
