to receive an international award like the Rose d'Or? After 18 years it reaffirms that we are, possibly, in one of the best moments in the history of the program. Being recognized by such an important award, the second most significant on television in the world after the Emmy, is important to us. Previously this award had a more European level, but now it has a Latin version. We already had two: in 2009 we won in Lucerne and in 2011 we repeated for the Carlos Jean section. But

We have sold options to the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Scandinavia, Russia, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Poland, Uruguay and France so that they can do it with their own presenter, they have not bought the
Spanish
version with Roberto Leal How are these versions usually managed? There are two options: some make their own version directly, and others set up a set in a country - Colombia, for example - and people of different nationalities participate - two contestants from Ecuador, two from Panama, two from Colombia and two from Chile - to then sell those deliveries to the countries where the contestants come from and have it broadcast there.

How did you meet Pablo Motos? When

finished , they asked me to direct a program called
Channel n.º4
with Boris Izaguirre and Ana García-Siñeriz. In four months I had to create a format and find collaborators. We started looking for people, and when I was in that process my wife and my children told me that I had to know a radio program that they listened to when they went to school and that it was hilarious. It was called
We Are Nobody
and it was made by a certain Pablo Motos in M80. I offered him to be a collaborator on
Channel n.º4
but it was difficult for me to convince him to come once a week. How did their alliance come about? Pablo drew a lot of attention to Fernando Jerez, a manager who was at Cuatro at that time and he offered him to do his own program. There the germ of
El Hormiguero
was created
, which was an idea and a name that Pablo had in his head for a long time. He contributed some ideas, I gave others and the program was born. The first two years were produced by Gestmusic, but for the third we wanted to do it ourselves and created 7yAcción... And so on, until today!
