China News Service, Chengdu, February 20 (Yao Xinyu) On the 19th, the Chengdu Municipal Education Bureau issued the "Notice on Preparing for the Opening of Primary and Secondary Schools and Kindergartens in the Spring Semester of 2024" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice") to adjust and adapt to , home-school collaboration, campus safety and health prevention, mental health, implementation of "double reduction", etc. to make specific arrangements.

The "Notice" requires that the first week of school in Chengdu is the "admission adaptation period", which is to guide students to gradually adapt to the transition week from vacation to semester. The first day of registration time can be extended to 9:30 according to the actual situation.

In addition, the two weeks after the start of school is the "homework deferment period", and teachers are not allowed to refuse students to come to school on the grounds that students have not completed their homework; except for the third grade of high school, various examinations and tests are not allowed to be held within two weeks after the start of school, and teachers are not allowed to arbitrarily Increase students' academic burden. Schools should focus on risk points such as emotional problems caused by adjustment to school, psychological pressure caused by learning tasks, and parent-child conflicts, proactively identify students who need attention, and provide timely care and help.

At the same time, the Chengdu Municipal Education Bureau requires the formulation of targeted mental health education work plans before and after the start of school. The school will organize a physical and mental health survey for all students within 2 weeks after the start of the school year, focusing on understanding the parent-child relationship, physical and mental conditions and ideological dynamics of students during the winter vacation, improving the classified prevention mechanism, and providing timely psychological help. Actively organize mental health education activities, and carry out love-life-love-themed education for all students through the "first lesson of school", mental health education classes, psychological lectures, class team activities and subject-integrated teaching. Through "exercise for one hour every day" and "listen for a quarter of an hour every day", we guide students to participate in sports for at least one hour every day, and promote effective communication with classmates and family members for 15 minutes every day.

The "Notice" also emphasized the need to implement the "double reduction" work requirements. Schools in Chengdu should strengthen the overall management of homework, strictly control the total amount of written homework, improve the quality of homework design, and ensure that the first and second grade students in primary school do not assign written homework, but can arrange appropriate consolidation exercises in school; other grades in primary school should take an average time to complete written homework every day. No more than 60 minutes; the average daily written homework completion time in junior high schools should not exceed 90 minutes. Guide primary school students to use after-school service time to basically complete written homework in school, and deepen the principle of "do not go home with primary school homework". The total amount of written work time must also be controlled on weekends and legal holidays. (over)
