After the death of a four-year-old girl in a daycare center in Rhineland-Palatinate, investigators continue to assume that it was an accident. According to the autopsy results, the child died of strangulation, the police and public prosecutor's office said on Monday. Accordingly, the four-year-old strangled herself on a slide with a so-called pot stilt
The children's toys are cans each with a ribbon that can be balanced on. The public prosecutor's office and the police are now examining whether the duty of supervision could have been violated at the daycare center in Limburgerhof near Ludwigshafen.
The girl was found lifeless outside the facility last Thursday. Attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful.
