China News Service, Beijing, February 18 (Reporter Xu Jing) The reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau on the 17th that during the Spring Festival holiday (February 10 to 17), Beijing received 17.495 million tourists, a year-on-year increase on a comparable basis. 37.4%, an increase of 25.7% over the same period in 2019; tourism revenue was 28.65 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), an increase of 40.6% over the same period last year, an increase of 27.4% over the same period in 2019.

During the Spring Festival holiday, major traditional temple fairs in Beijing return, cultural and tourism activities continue to be held, and the holiday tourism market becomes more popular. The overall popularity of Beijing’s Spring Festival holiday exceeded last year’s Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, and the tourism market was generally stable and orderly, showing a more festive flavor, a richer atmosphere, more activities, and more participants.

During the Spring Festival, the top ten scenic spots (areas) in Beijing that receive tourists are Wangfujing, Qianmen Street, Nanluogu Lane, Temple of Heaven Park, Summer Palace, Old Summer Palace, Ditan Park, Longtan Park, Badaling Great Wall, and Blue Harbor.

Garden and temple fairs have become the "top trend" during this Spring Festival holiday. Beijing's major temple fairs and garden fairs received a total of 5.164 million tourists. Beijing has launched traditional cultural and folk activities featuring dragon dances, street parades, and flower festivals in shopping districts, street squares, alley entrances, pocket parks and other places. At the same time, cultural centers and libraries at all levels across the city have launched a number of cultural activities to create a "cultural feast" at the doorsteps of citizens. The newly popular check-in spots, Beijing City Library, Grand Canal Museum, and Beijing Art Center, received a total of 259,000 tourists.

On a comparable basis, the number of performances, the number of audiences, and box office revenue increased by 24.8%, 25.3%, and 28.2% respectively year-on-year; compared with the same period in 2019, they increased by 245.7%, 41.5%, and 31.7% respectively.

Before the holiday, Beijing's popular scenic spots scientifically calculated the daily carrying capacity and instantaneous carrying capacity, and adopted service measures such as increasing daily reception capacity, extending opening hours, increasing ticket windows and ticket checking channels to meet the needs of the public. During the holidays, Beijing optimized the "one park, one policy" measure to deal with large passenger flows, and adopted measures such as "opening all entrances to the park" and real-time monitoring, inspection and guidance of key areas to ensure the orderly operation of popular temple fairs, garden parties and popular tourist areas.
