Al-Duwairi: Developments in the north confirm the occupation’s intention to wage an open war against Hezbollah

The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, considered that the escalation taking place in the northern occupied territories and southern Lebanon confirms the intention of the Israeli occupation to launch an open war against Hezbollah, and pointed out that its date has not yet been determined.

Earlier, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that the town of Mays al-Jabal in southern Lebanon was subjected to two Israeli raids, and another Israeli raid targeted the vicinity of the town of Ghaziyeh in southern Lebanon.

Al-Duwairi explained in a military analysis for Al Jazeera that this event comes within the context of political escalation, as the war council, both its extreme and less extreme parts, enters the public auction equation to satisfy their popular bases in the hope of continuing their political future.

He pointed out that the explosion resulting from the Israeli raid in the vicinity of the town of Al-Ghaziyeh was large, suggesting that the target was military, such as weapons depots or the like, and that the response by Hezbollah is what will confirm the nature of this target.

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari later said that the army attacked Hezbollah weapons depots in Ghaziyeh in response to the party’s march attack on Tiberias, adding, “We will continue to act forcefully in response to Hezbollah’s attacks.”

Al-Duwairi pointed out that these developments reveal the gradation of the distance that entered into the confrontation from a distance of 5 kilometers to 46 on the part of the occupation, while it reached about 20 kilometers on the part of the resistance, wondering whether the resistance would expand the targeting circle to the same distance that the occupation targeted.

Al-Duwairi believes that sooner or later Israel will launch an open war against Hezbollah, pointing in this context to the transfer of the 36th Division from the Gaza Strip to the northern regions as well as the return of the Golani Brigade to the north, adding that “there is clear preparations in the military dimension and a political escalation, and it appears that the war "It will inevitably come to Hezbollah."

The military expert explained that the strategic readings of the occupation army’s capabilities said during the period of the former Chief of Staff that it was capable of waging war simultaneously on two fronts, but subsequent evaluations showed that it was capable of waging war on one and a half fronts, meaning a war on one complete front and a partial war on the other front. .
