Police are working with local hunting associations to increase patrols in the area and ask anyone who spots the animal not to approach it.

Just after 9 a.m. on the 18th, police received multiple reports of a wild boar appearing in the center of Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture.



According to the police, a police officer who rushed to the scene found the wild boar near JR Koga Station about 30 minutes after the call, but it ran head-on into a woman in her 70s who was riding a bicycle and ran away.



At that time, the woman fell and sustained minor injuries, including a bruise on her right leg.



Later, at around 9:50 a.m., a passerby reported to the police that there was a person lying near a wild boar on a town road in Nogi Town, Tochigi Prefecture, which is adjacent to the north of Koga City.



According to police, a man in his 70s who was walking was bitten on the hand and leg by a wild boar that came from behind.



The injury is said to be minor.



The boar, which was about 1.5 meters long, then fled into a nearby field, so police are working with a local hunting club to step up patrols in the area.



The distance between the sites where the wild boar appeared in Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture and Nogi Town, Tochigi Prefecture is about 2 kilometers in a straight line.



Police are asking anyone who spots a wild boar not to approach it.
