During its ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, Israel caused massive and systematic destruction of residential complexes in the north, center and south of the Strip. The "Hapsura" system is the latest technology that came into full use by the Israelis in the Gaza war.

The "Hapsura" system, which is the latest technology developed by Unit 8200 in the occupation army, relies on artificial intelligence, and its function is to process huge amounts of data and translate it into targets to be dealt with - according to the Israeli term - by field units.

Richard Moyas of the human rights organization 36 says that given the massive scale of destruction in the Gaza Strip, precision and targeting of civilians can be removed from Habsura's functions.

Satellite images taken over a period of weeks show the extent of the destruction, especially to residential complexes in the Gaza Strip.

According to a report by Salam Khader on Al Jazeera, about 68% of the buildings and residential complexes were destroyed by the occupation forces in the northern Gaza Strip.

In Gaza City, approximately 72% of residential complexes and buildings were destroyed, and approximately 39% of buildings in the central region were completely destroyed.

As for Khan Yunis, the occupation forces destroyed approximately 46% of the buildings and residential complexes, and in Rafah, which turned into a sole refuge for more than half of the Strip’s population, the occupation forces blew up approximately 20% of the city’s buildings.

How is the process of blowing up complexes carried out?

The combat engineering teams in the occupation forces deliberately attach explosives to the columns of the buildings and focus on the foundations on which the building stands. They move from one building to another within the complex, after which a series of successive explosions are launched.

The United Nations affirms that the right to housing is a basic human right. Housing is a right, not a commodity, and a basis for the stability of families and individuals without their fear of arbitrary demolition and forced eviction.
