The reporter learned from China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd. that the Yangtze River Delta Railway ushered in the peak return passenger flow during the Spring Festival. On that day It is expected to carry 2.66 million passengers, plan to operate 568 additional passenger trains, and recombine 191 EMU trains. The railway Shanghai Station is expected to arrive at 754,000 passengers that day, setting a new record for the station's single-day passenger arrivals.

  It is reported that a total of 812 trains arrived at Shanghai Railway Station that day, mainly from the Central Plains, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui and other directions. Among the arriving trains, there were a total of 183 passenger trains. In addition, in order to meet the travel needs of passengers, the station opened 118 additional passenger trains in the directions of Central Plains, Jiangxi, Xuzhou, Anhui, and Shanghai-Nanjing on that day. On that day, the waiting rooms of the three major stations (Shanghai Station, Shanghai South Railway Station, and Shanghai Hongqiao Station) were open 24 hours a day, and 64 additional night passenger trains (from 0:00 to 5:00 on February 18) were opened.

  As for the Yangtze River Delta Railway, since the launch of the Spring Festival Transport in 2024, the Yangtze River Delta Railway has carried more than 52.4 million passengers, with an average of more than 2.38 million passengers per day. Among them, more than 37.7 million passengers were sent in the 15 days before the holiday, and the average daily number of passengers was more than 2.5 million. During the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, more than 14.6 million passengers were transported, with an average of nearly 2.1 million passengers per day. The passenger flow before and during the festival increased significantly compared with the same period in 2019.
