An original script for the first “Star Wars” film by Hollywood star Harrison Ford was auctioned in Great Britain for 10,795 pounds (just under 12,620 euros). As the auction house Excalibur Auctions in Hertfordshire, north of London, announced, the collector's item was bought by an Austrian collector.

Ford used the script when filming “Star Wars,” the first part of the science fiction saga from writer-director George Lucas, at Elstree Studios north of London. Strictly speaking, it is the fourth draft of the script from March 15, 1976.

The incomplete and unbound script contains revisions and on page 56 introduces the space pilot “Han Solo” – with this role the US actor Ford became a global star at the time. In addition, scenes and characters are mentioned in the script that did not make it into the final version of the film, writes the Guardian.

Recording plan and letter auctioned

Ford left the script in a London apartment he had rented for filming - along with a shooting schedule and a letter from an agent or friend. The landlord found the pieces after he moved out and kept them for decades. The recording plan has now been auctioned for 4,826 pounds, the letter for 177.80 pounds.

»Although other copies of this script have come to market, this auction set a record for a Star Walker script. “This shows how tempting a personal connection to the objects is for ‘Star Wars’ fans,” quotes the “Guardian” Jonathan Torode, the auctioneer at Excalibur Auctions.

In his role as “Han Solo,” Ford also appeared in the other parts of the saga “The Empire Strikes Back” (1980) and “Return of the Jedi” (1983). In 2015 he portrayed the hero again in the sequel film “The Force Awakens”.
