• Hunter Schafer, LGBTQIA+ icon who rose to fame with Euphoria: "I am the object of public attention for being a very young trans person"

Zendaya

's thing

is from another world. From another

fashion world.

Of her own, that of Zendaya, because in a few years the actress has managed to become

the fashion icon

in capital letters of this decade, at least. It is not a subjective opinion:

in 2021

she was already awarded as a

Fashion Icon

by none other than

the CFDA

(Council of Fashion Designers of America), also known as the

Oscars of fashion.

No one is immune to the

Zendaya phenomenon,

let's call it a phenomenon or

a hurricane, because it sweeps away

all the other attendees at any red carpet in its path. The same thing just happened in London, where everyone in the fashion universe was left speechless at the premiere of

'Dune 2'.

The protagonist of 'Euphoria'

had already been warning .

On the other red carpets of the second part of the remake of the David Lynch film, those in

Paris and Mexico,

Zendaya dusted off her best clothes, all very consistent with the theme of 'Dune', for being futuristic and post-apocalyptic, signed by

Bottega Veneta, Alaïa or Nicolas Ghesquière.

But

her last look is

retrofuturistic and apocalyptic

, the one at the film's premiere in London. Because there Zendaya was not Zendaya. She was a robot.

A fashion robot,

to be exact, vintage.

The day Zendaya was a robot on the red carpet

A robot, a

Joan of Arc from the future,

a

Chani

with armor to face the dangers that lurk beneath

the sands of Arrakis.

All that and much more, because she made a splash as a fashion icon again, it was Zendaya on the sand carpet that transformed the 'Dune 2' red carpet in London.

Because Zendaya did the least expected: neither

Louis Vuitton nor Valentino

nor other brands of which she is or has been the image (or very close) dressed the actress. The actress was, in London, the most fashionable sewing robot imaginable.

Once again the performer pulled from the fashion archive - to remember, those four looks from the 2023 SAG Awards, by

Armani Privé, Valentino, Versace and Prada,

the latter two vintage -, and turned to a classic fashion transgressor like It was

Thierry Mugler

. Let us remember that today Mugler is once again a top brand thanks in part to the groundbreaking designs of the creative at the helm,

Casey Cadwallader,

which follow the groundbreaking line of the original creator.

And what an archive: Zendaya traveled until 1995 to recover a robot jumpsuit, exactly as it was, that

Thierry Mugler presented at the Cirque d'Hiver in Paris as part of his

autumn-winter 95-96

collection ,

a parade that incidentally celebrated all the high 20 years of signing. A show that entered the annals of fashion both for its profusion of looks (more than 100), and for its

avant-garde and groundbreaking approach

to fashion. A parade that made history, as Zendaya has done.

The

cyborg Zendaya

, not content with wearing entirely silver, with clearly visible openings, covered her neck with another element of great impact:

a huge Bulgari

diamond necklace and a large sapphire in the center.

Zendaya after the robot

Just when we thought we had seen it all with the haute couture version of the cyborg,

Zendaya's second look of London

night

arrived. This time she returned to the present on her fashion journey, always faithful to the same brand, Mugler.

Thus, from the robot metal of the 90s design, the actress went to a current Mugler design by Casey Cadwallader, she went to the classic red carpet black with a dress that relaxed her silhouette as if it were a second skin, belonging to

the prefall 2024 collection.

Why Zendaya is a style icon

The Zendaya phenomenon, which jumps from the screen to the red carpets, is one of those cases that occur from time to time in fashion (and in life): that figure that fashionistas like (that two giants like

Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Bulgari

have made a 27-year-old girl the image of their luxury brands, not to forget that she puts a face to perfume and several products from

Lancôme,

a cosmetic emporium) and others (her role in

'Euphoria'

as

Rue

has made those who live outside of 'fashion' also fall at her feet.

To make a comparison, although they are odious, we could say that she is

the Kate Moss of the 21st century,

that

Disney girl

who refused to remain in that, and in her she has an extraordinary physique (she is very thin, she measures 1.78 and she has an exotic and special face), her own risky style when choosing looks and a presence that makes her shine equally with an anorak or with an evening dress.
