A new ``Roadside Station'' has opened in Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture, and nearly half of the construction cost was partially funded by donations received from Yusaku Maezawa, a businessman from the prefecture.

The roadside station ``Green Farm Tateyama'' opened on the 16th, and a commemorative ceremony was held with approximately 100 people in attendance.

The roadside station is located on a vast site of approximately 23,000 square meters, and will include a direct sales store for vegetables and fruits, a restaurant where you can enjoy game cuisine, and a farm where you can experience harvesting.

According to Tateyama City, construction of the facility cost a total of 760 million yen, of which nearly half was donated by Mr. Yusaku Maezawa, a businessman from the prefecture, as a hometown tax about four years ago. This was financed by a portion of the 2 billion yen donated.

On the 16th, many people lined up even before the store opened, and you could see them enjoying shopping and eating right away.

A woman in her 60s who visited from Minamiboso City said, ``I thought it was nice, spacious and had a high ceiling.I love strawberries, so I went to see a lot of them.''

Mayor Shoichi Mori of Tateyama City said, ``I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Maezawa for allowing me to use his donation.I would like to actively utilize the donation as a base for Tateyama's food town development.'' Ta.
