On the 16th, Kanagawa Prefectural Police arrested Big Motor, a corporation, for violating the Road Act, as it was suspected that the tree cutting in front of the store of used car sales company Big Motor was carried out in connection with the company's business. I sent the documents to prosecutors on suspicion.

In the incident in which a street tree in front of a Big Motor store was cut down, the suspect, Toshiyuki Kambara (51), a former director of Big Motor and an "environmental improvement promotion committee member" who patrolled each store, was killed in 2022. In January 2017, he was arrested on suspicion of damaging property after instructing him to cut down a street tree in front of his Kawasaki store.

As a result of investigating the background of the instruction, the police suspected that the act of logging was carried out in connection with the company's business, and on the 16th, the police referred Big Motor, a corporation, to the public prosecutor's office on suspicion of violating the Road Act.

In addition, three people, including a former director and the manager of the Kawasaki store at the time, were also referred to prosecutors on suspicion of violating road laws.

Police have not revealed whether he admitted the crime or not.

This appears to be the first time that Big Motor, as a corporation, has been referred to prosecutors for a series of incidents in which roadside trees were damaged across the country.

Regarding the fact that the documents were sent to the prosecutor's office, Big Motor commented, ``It is true that our company was sent to the prosecutor's office. As this is a criminal case, we will refrain from disclosing details.''
