The city's Board of Education has issued a reprimand to more than 130 Kawasaki City elementary, junior high, and high school teachers for fraudulently receiving travel expenses for business trips.

According to the Kawasaki City Board of Education, 136 teachers and staff at Kawasaki City's elementary, junior high, and high schools have falsely claimed to have used public transportation when they went on business trips by private cars during the five-year period ending in 2022. This means that he fraudulently received travel expenses.

In most cases, each person received fraudulent benefits more than 100 times, and the total amount was approximately 1 million yen, which was returned in full.

The City Board of Education has given disciplinary action by reprimanding 75 faculty members who have fraudulently received benefits three or more times, and given written reprimands to the remaining 61 who have fraudulently received benefits twice or less.

The use of private cars was originally only allowed in times of disaster, and the teachers and staff who were punished said, ``Public transportation is inconvenient in some places, so we decided to use private cars to carry out our work efficiently.'' It means that it is.

On the other hand, the City Board of Education has reduced the pay of three principals and vice principals for failing to register their attendance at work using IC cards, as required by the service regulations, for a total of 300 days from 2022 to this fiscal year. The punishment was a reprimand.

After apologizing, the City Board of Education has decided to change the system to allow teachers and staff to use their own cars for business trips starting in April this year, taking into account the actual work conditions of teachers.
