A man left a trail of destruction in Graben-Neudorf (Karlsruhe district). He is said to have massively attacked a train conductor, attacked other women, later rioted in a supermarket and then stole a car.

As police reported on Wednesday, the first attack happened on Tuesday afternoon on a tram when the man hit, kicked and choked the train attendant and snatched her belt bag. The 57-year-old was injured and had to be taken to hospital. According to the information, the man then insulted two women on the platform and grabbed and shook one of them.

Escape with multiple accidents

A short time later he entered a supermarket where he allegedly shouted at an employee, threw a cake plate at a saleswoman and punched a customer. He then threatened a 23-year-old in the supermarket parking lot with a broken glass bottle, took his car keys and drove off in the stolen car. According to police, the man caused several accidents on his escape towards Karlsruhe.

So far he has not been caught despite a large-scale manhunt using a helicopter. His motives and the background to the incidents are unclear. The police are looking for witnesses.
