Approximately 80 kg of snow was gifted from Fukushima Prefecture to elementary school students in Okinawa, who rarely see snow, and the children enjoyed a snowball fight.

This is an exchange project with Fukushima Prefecture that has been going on for over 20 years.On the 15th, two 6th grade elementary school students from Inawashiro Town, Fukushima Prefecture who serve as "snowman goodwill ambassadors" visited Kitanakagusuku Elementary School in Kitanakagusuku Village, Okinawa Prefecture. visited.



The two were greeted with applause from around 120 children and were welcomed with eisa and sanshin.



Afterwards, the children cheered when the two presented a snowman made from snow from Inawashiro Town.



Approximately 80 kilograms of snow was brought into the school courtyard, and the children seemed surprised at how cold it was when they came into contact with the snow, which they don't usually see.



The two children from Fukushima also joined in and enjoyed a snowball fight, with some of the children getting absorbed in playing and getting their clothes and hair wet.



The boys who participated said, ``This is my first time touching snow. It's so cold,'' and ``Playing in the snow is the best.''



Kiku Endo, a Snowman Goodwill Ambassador, said, ``It was the first time for the Okinawan children to experience snow, so it was great to be able to interact with them by playing in the snow.It was fun.''
