On the 15th, two 19-year-old men and women were hit by a mini-vehicle at a rotary in front of a station in Kagamiishi-cho, Fukushima Prefecture. One died and the other was left unconscious and in serious condition. An interview with the police revealed that the vehicle appears to have entered the roundabout without stopping at a temporary stop intersection.

Police are investigating the cause of the car crashing.

Just before 4 p.m. on the 15th, two people, a man and a woman, were hit by a light passenger car as they got off a driving school shuttle bus at a rotary in front of JR Kagamiishi Station in Kagamiishi Town, Fukushima Prefecture.

As a result of this accident, Tomoya Hoshino (19), a first-year university student from Miyashiro Town, Saitama Prefecture, died, and a 19-year-old woman living outside the prefecture also suffered a fractured bone in her skull and was left unconscious.

Police arrested Hideko Omokawa (72), a part-time employee living in the town, who was driving the light passenger car, on the spot on suspicion of causing injury by negligent driving.

According to the investigation so far, the light passenger car entered from the exit of the rotary in front of the station and headed straight for the station building, but without stopping at the intersection where there was a stop sign in front of the exit, it went straight to the rotary. An interview with the police revealed that it appears that the suspect had entered the area.

A person who witnessed the accident said, ``The car was traveling at a high speed, and the driver said that he had mistakenly stepped on the accelerator and the brake.'' The police will now investigate the suspicion of negligent driving resulting in death. I decided to take a closer look at the cause of the car's out-of-control injuries.
