Anthony Albanese and Jodie Haydon get engaged on Valentine's Day

She puts her hand on his chest, a large ring on her finger: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese got engaged to his girlfriend Jodie Haydon on Valentine's Day. “She said yes,” the 60-year-old head of government wrote on the online service X. He added a red heart emoji to the message.
Albanese met Haydon at a business lunch in 2020. He is the first Australian prime minister to get engaged while in office, according to Australian public broadcaster ABC. »Love is a beautiful thing. I'm so happy for you both," Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong commented on Albanese's engagement on online networks. Other Australian politicians and celebrities also congratulated the head of government, who has been in office since May 2022.
